ingredients:
Caster sugar
Flavouring e.g peppermint extract, vanilla etc
Olive oil
1. First take a dessert spoon of caster sugar and place it in a bowl.
2. Take your desired flavour. I used peppermint and vanilla. Take about a cap full or less depending on how strong you want the flavour to be but be careful as a too stronger flavout could be quite overpowering.
3. To help bind this altogether I use olive oil. In some recipes I have seen people have used Vaseline but I don't really like that idea because I tend to lick the rest of the scrub off ( it's so delish) so I don't particularly like the idea of licking Vaseline off. I take about a teaspoon of olive oil to help mix it altogether.
4. I then just pop in to a little pot. The one I have used is one of the little jars from Lush, which held the Mint Julips scrub so I thought it was only right I used the jar to make my own.
The base of this lip scrub is very simple so you can change it up how you like, whatever flavour you prefer. I think I might try a rose flavoured one next time because they are so quick to make you could probably make a few at a time in different flavours and because I have recently become a little obsessed with rose scented and flavoured things and also I think it would be perfect for Spring/Summer to do a few floral lip scrubs.
I can see myself becoming a bit obsessed with lip scrubs so there may be a few more posts on this in the future!
