I have been wanting to do this post for a while because I love reading posts about what people have in their kits and brush belts so I thought I would do my own. I am actually training to become a makeup artist mainly in theatre because I love all of the drama and the way you can bring out the characters in the makeup!
As you can see from my brush belt its not very full because I am only starting out, I just have the basics that you need.
Going into what I actually have in my belt, starting out at the top of the belt, I have all of my face brushes, so I have my duo-fibre brushes, my blusher brush, my powder brush, my contour brushes and then it goes into all of my foundation and concealer brushes.
Then, at the bottom of the belt I have all of my eye brushes. I have my basic eyeshadow brushes, my blending brushes which I use a lot, whether I am doing basic makeup or if I am doing stage makeup, I think blending brushes are a very good basic brush to have in your collection. I then have an eyeliner brush which is perfect for gel liner. I love it! It is very thin so it makes it very easy to do either a basic cat eye or if I am doing stage and I need to line on the lower lash line and then finally I have a few smudge brushes.
Hygiene is extremely important when it comes to makeup, you need to keep hygiene your biggest priority both yourself and your kit! So, in the left pocket of my brush belt I keep antibacterial hand wipes, these are great if you don't have time or anywhere near to wash your hands and they just help to remove any bacteria that could be on your hands. I also keep a packet of chewing gum in there as well, keeping your breath fresh is very important as well because you are working very close to people's faces and you don't want any stanky breath!
Then, moving on the final part of my belt, I keep a few things in this pocket. The first thing I have is small spray bottle of hand sanitizer, which is great for quickly removing your hands of any bacteria. The next thing I have is a small pot of translucent powder which is great because it is so small which makes it really practical to carry round. The final thing I keep in my belt is a spray bottle of surgical spirit which is great if you need to just spot clean because it will remove the bacteria but also evaporate because it is alcohol so you don't have to worry about your brushes being soaking wet before using them again.
So this is all that is in my makeup brush belt so far, I will put up another post when I have built it up a bit more.
